Tobias Delius - tenorsaxophone, clarinet Michiel Scheen - piano Tobias Delius and Michiel Scheen found each other in 1983 through their shared love for the jazz tradition and improvisatory adventure. From the first sounds in their set they deep-dive into the undertaking and fleet-footed pass on references to Fats Waller, Ben Webster, Duke Ellington, Don Byas, Thelonious Monk, Sonny Rollins, Cecil Taylor, Archie Shepp and Misha Mengelberg. Original themes are also used situationally. The musical course is always open and with playful eagerness they draw the listener into a dynamic whole, the result of which is only known afterwards. Tobias Delius (clarinet, tenorsax) began playing the tenor saxophone in the Ruhrgebiet, Germany. It was in Mexico City and especially in Amsterdam that he developed his very personal style.
